Shimano Ultegra FD-R8150 DI2 Front Derailleur

The FD-R8150 electronic front derailleur for the Ultegra 2x12-speed road bike groupset from Shimano has a more compact design than its predecessor and is therefore even more aerodynamic. With a total capacity of 16 teeth, this allows large chainrings with a maximum of 50 to 52 teeth to be shifted, whereby the shifting speed has been increased enormously compared to the past. The front derailleur is compatible with a chainline of 44.5 mm and is designed for braze-on mounting. With the help of a suitable adapter, however, it is also possible to mount a clamp on the frame. It is connected to the battery via a cable, which in turn is also connected to the rear derailleur and, if applicable, the STIs. Of course, FD-R8150 has the proven Synchro and Semi-Synchro Shift function, which enables an automated interaction with the rear derailleur and thus makes shifting easier. The inner parallelogram and the deflectors of the front derailleur are made of steel, the outer parallelogram is made of aluminium to save weight.
